Our "maintenance free" option has a food-safe epoxy lining on the interior of the cup. This lining nearly eliminates the maintenance required to prevent the tumbler from leaking. The outer surfaces of the cup will remain raw wood that will require minimal maintenance to keep the wood from losing its lust.
